known
known Detroit artist. has recently
added more distinction to her ree-,
ord in the field of tine arts by her
interestins exhibition at the Green
Door, 143., Griswold street. which
exhibition was the opening feature
of this unique tea room, and re-
mained on its walls until Oct. 15.
Miss Gurvitch, showing fine
mastery in her batiks, displayed
four very interesting panels, to-
gether with a number of oils,
water-colors, and etchings. The
well known mural that won first
prize at the Michigan Artists Ex-
hibit several seasons ago, num-
bered in this exhibit, and called
forth much favorable comment.
With her etchings Miss Gurvitch
awakens interest, for although
this is a comparatively new field for

her, she shows excellent possibili-
ties in that direction. Her water
colors are a delight in both rich-
ness of color and distinctness of
design and technique.
