Opening. ‘,1' the new Fox theater
has been delayed until Friday
night, Sept. 21, so that the hull-
',reds of artists taking part in the
opening program can practice to-
gether on the completed stage.
Contractors finished their work in
the theater Thursday, and furni-
ture is being moved in for the
lounge rooms, to spa is being laid,
and drapes have been hung.
Tuning of the organ to produce
uniform volume and harmony has
been act omplished. This largest
organ in Detroit has 17 switch-
boards and 19 relay stacks con-
trolling its seven sound chambers.
Thousands of intricate wires have
been centered in three main control
cables, two leading to the console
on the elevated platform, and one
to the portable console which can
he play.] at the SHIM` time.
The Ito o re he,tra musicians have
been rehearsing under the direc-
tion of Adolphe Kornspan and
Frederick Stark all this week,
choral voices have been harmoniz-
ing under the tutelage of Alfred
Manning. and the ballet group has
been getting into rhythm to thy
tune of piano measures and the
tuns-tv-tumolee of Anthony Nelle
who comes to Detroit from The
Roxy ballet.
In the theater, backstage, equip-
