Mr. Cohen is a member of the
Congregation Shaarey Zezek, the
B'nai ll'rith, Rotary Club, and is
active in many civic undertakings.
It was through his ecorts that Dr.
Leo M. Franklin was invited to ad-
dress the Rotary Club at Lansing.
Mr. Cohen is also a member of
the Masonic order, Lansing Cham-
beer of Commerce, North Side
Commercial Club, Country Club of
Lansing, and is an honorary mem-
ber of the 119th Field Artillery.

The Jewish Welfare Board has
published the eighth issue of its
"Jewish Calendar for Soldiers and
Sailors for the Jewish year 5489,
covering the secular calendar
from Sept. 15, 1928, to Oct. 4,
1929. The calendar contains a
statement explanatory of the Jew-
ish holidays and a brief historical
description entitled The Jews in
the Wars of the United States."
The Jewish Welfare Board,
which served as one of the wel-
fare organizations during the
World War, has continued as a
permanent organization in peace
time for the social and religious
requirement.. of Jewish soldiers,
sailors, marines, and disabled vet_
erans. The calendar has been
prepared primarily for these men
and is distributed to them gratis.
The board serves also as the na-
tional organization for over 300
Y. M. H. A.'s and Y. W. H. A.'s,
and Jewish community 'Canters
throughout the United States and
Canada.
