cording to a dispatch from Cum-

tional Catholic Welfare Council
News Service here.
Last year his brother Loon, a
member of the graduating class of
La Salle Institute, was awarded a
similar medal for the best paper
on the subject, "Catholicity in the
United States." The subject of
Martin's essay was "The I.ife of
Blessed Brother Solomon, Martyr."
Referring to this, the Rev. Al-
bert J. Smith, editor-in-chief of
the Baltimore Catholic Review, in
his address to the graduates of the
institute, said: "If some of our
Catholic people knew their re-
ligion as well as these two Jewish
boys know it, there grould be no
need for non-Catholics to declare
that they find great difficulty in
getting clear explanations con-
cerning the Catholic church from
some of their Catholic friends."

the catastrophic end of the "Italia"

science will be enriched, due to the

Nobile'a party. The observations
made by Pontremoli, professor at
the Milan Polytechnic Institute,
who was invited by General Nobile
to participate in. the expedition,
were rescued, although grave
fears are entertained for the
scientist, who is counted among
those lost, General Nobile stated
