See and Hear,,Ciintor Josef
Rosenblatt Sing 'Yihrzeit"
at Madison.

Bound to the titan of Jewry
with unbreakable bonds of tender
memory, Cantor Josef Rosenblatt
holds a sacred place that is his tor
all time. "The Sweetest Singer of
Israeelr' "The greatest cantor in
all the world!" These phrases are
common when his name is men-
tioned.
In thin country the cantor's suc-
cess has reached tremendous pro-
portions, he having attracted ca-
pacity audiences to some of the
largest auditoriums in the bite
cities. The number in which he ts
heard in "The Jazz Singer" at the
Madison is the famous "YahrzeiL"
which he renders in the synagogue
sequence near the close of the
picture.
Thus "The Jazz Singer" pos-
sesses two of the golden voices of
the age. Jolson with heart-break-
ing, heart-mending vivacity sings
his mammy songs and. jazz and
also the ancient Day of Atonement
song, "Kol Nidre."

everyone who smokes cigarettes, smokes
