ACTIVE ON COMMITTEE
FOR YOUNG ISRAEL BALL
KISIIINEV.-(J. T. A.) Two
reasons were offered for the decis-
ion of the Rumanian government
not to approve the statutes of the
Kishinev Kehillah which is now be-
ing reorganized, since Bessarabia
became a ',art of Rumania.
The first was that legally consti-
tuted kehillahs do not exist in Bess-
arabia. The second reason was
that the Kehillah statutes included
in its scope social welfare work,
emigration and other activities
which are not exclusively religious.
The resection of the statutes will
hamper the re-organization work
and has called forth many protests
on the part of Jewish leaders.
After four performances given
here by the Warsaw Art Theater
troupe, Viet, which has been tour-
ing Rumania, the troupe was com-
pelled to leave the city by the Kish-
inev authorities.
