A meeting of the Detroit chap-
ter, Hadassah, was held at the fed-
eration clubhouse at Hancock and
Second avenues on Tuesday after-
noon, Jan. 17: Announcement
was made of the annual ball which
is to be given jointly by the Sen-
iors and lluniors on Sunday eve-
ning, Feb. 19, at the Hotel Statler.
Mrs. Charles Hamburger is senior
chairman and Mrs. Harry A.
Singer is junior chairman.
Sirs. Ralph Davidson, chairman
of the cultural group, announced
that the next meeting will be held
on Tuesday evening, Jan. 24, at
the Shaarey Zedek branch,
Twelfth between Aatkinson and
Clairmount avenues. "Power," by
Leon Feuchtwanger, will be the
topic of the evening. The resume
will be given by Miss Florence
Krell, and the discussion will be
led by Mrs. Harry Stocker. On
Feb. 7 a resume of "Disraeli" by
D. L. Murray will be given by
Philip Slonmvitz, to be followed
by a general dsicussion.
A rare treat was afforded the
members present in being privi-
leged to hear Sirs. Edith Kopelson
give a reading of "The happy
Prince" to the accompaniment of
a piano score by Alan Kopelson.
The next meeting is scheduled
to take place on Wednesday eve-
ning, Feb. 15, the program to by

luncheon is planned for Tuesday,
Mar. 6.
