Sept. 3 at his residence, 2972 Webb
avenue. Ile was the husband of
Sarah and father of Mrs. Hattie
Leipziger, Mrs. Dora Roseroot,
Maurice Mitshkun and the late
Mrs. Lillian Wortell. Funeral
services were conducted Tuesday
afternoon with interment in Wood-
mere.

The llakoah Juniors, formerly
Judaean Pioneers, held their regu-
lar meeting at the home of Isidore
Goldfaden, 3812 Thirty-first street,
Thursday, Sept. 1. The emblem
for the club was chosen, which
consists of a Jewish star with an
"II" in the center. A raffle for a
gold watch was discussed and a
committee of three, Gordon Kush-
ner, Fred Bornstein and Isidore
Goldfaden, was appointed to be in
charge of the raffle. Tickets will
be on sale Tuesday, Sept. 6, at the
price of 10 cents each, available
from any member of the club. The
next meeting will be held Thurs-
day, Sept. 15, at the home of Fred
Burnstein, 4026 Twenty-eighth
street. Jewish boys over 16 years
of age that are interested in ath-
letics or socials are invited to join.

Young Israel of Detroit will
commence activities again, after
having been idle during the sum-
mer recess, with its opening meet-
ing, which will be held at 8:30
o'clock Wednesday evening, Sept.
14, at the Jewish Center, 31 Mel-
bourne avenue. The council and
the committee supervising ar-
rangements for the high holy day
services will make their reports
on this occasion. Dancing will
conclude the meeting.
Those men and women 18 years
of age or older who are interested
in an organization whose chief
aim, besides its social and educa-
tional program, is the observance
of the Sabbath, are encouraged to
attend the meeting.
