GROSSMAN-ULLIAN
On July 14 a beautiful wedding
ceremony was performed at the
Beacon Douse, Brookline, %ISA
Mrs. Harris Ullian gave away her
youngest daughter, Charlotte C.,
who was united in marriage to Jo-
seph G. Grossman of [Introit.
Rabbi II. H. Birnbaum officiated
and was assisted by Cantor I. G.
Glickstein. In his address to the
bride, bridegroom and guests, Rab-
bi Birnbaum pointed out the splen-
did qualities of the bride, her ac-
tivities, both in public and social
life, her devotion to Jewish af-
fairs, and especially her love for
charitable work.
Miss Ullian wore a French
bridal gown, heavily beaded with
glass and cut steel beads and
rhinestones. The maid-of-honor,
Anna Mini, a cousin of the bride,
wore a period style Nile green taf-
feta gown and carried a bouquet
of American beauties. The bride
carried a bridal shower which was
made up of sweetheart roses, sweet
peas, lilies-of-the-valley and or-
chids.
Both the bride and bridegroom
had numerous relatives and friends
from out of town who attended
the wedding, among who was the
best mum, Dr. Ira Si. Altshuler of
Detroit; three of the ushers, Drs.
Samuel Altshuler and Herman
Kantor and Chester Schwartz, also
of Detroit; Mr. and Mrs. II. B. Lil-
lian of Detroit, Carl Hindman of
New York, Miss Gussie Newman
of New York and Mr. and Mrs. J.
Cook and Mr. and Mrs. M. Berk
of Chicago.
After the ceremony a reception
was tendered to 150 guests.
Mr. and Mrs. Grossman, after
stopping at the Pemberton l'otel
for a week, will leave on an eaten-
:dye trip, motoring through the
White Mountains, the Thousand
Islands and then by boat to the
Great Lakes, returning to Detroit,
where they will reside.

Bequest To Jews
NEW YORK.—IJ. T. A.)--
Emanuel Neumann, executive
chairman of the United Palestine
Appeal, has resigned from that po-
sition, the Jewish Telegraphic
Agency learns.
The resignation of Mr. Neu-
Juana from the United Palestine
Appeal was submitted at the last
electing of the board of directors
of the appeal and was accepted
with regret. The resignation fol-
lowed Mr. Neumann's resignation
from the administrative committee
of the Zionist Organization of
. America in May, submitted prior
to the holding of the annual Zion-
Hot convention in Atlantic City,
where an oppositional group at-
, tacked the Lipsky administration
!and called forth wide discussion
which led to the changes in the
Zionist administration.
Mr. Neumann was one of the
!pioneer workers of the Keren
! llayesod in the United States, hav-
ing joined this organization as its
secretary when it was established
in 1921, following the breach at
the Cleveland Zionist convention.
In the past two years Mr. Neu-
mann occupied a leading position
in the national administration of
'the Keren Hayesod as a volunteer
worker.
In accepting the resignation, the
executive committee of the United
Palestine Appeal passed a resolu-
tion expressing the appreciation of
the committee for the services of
Mr. Neumann.
Judge William M. Lewis, na-
tional chairman of the United Pal-
estine Appeal, has issued a state-
ment with regard to the resigns-
' non of Mr. Neumann, in which
he pays tribute to his services.

Is that we are preparing for the coming fall
