ELEVEN YEARS
F OR The OVER
Detroit Jewish Chronicle

has been publishing a dignified,
well-edited newspaper, never once
causing embarrassment to any in-
dividual Jew or to the Jewish com-
munity. Never once has The
Chronicle stooped to sensational-
ism, nor has dignity or integrity
been compromised for profit.

today The Chronicle stands
A ND alone
in the field—the one big

Jewish newspaper printed in Eng-
lish in Michigan.

THERE is scarcely a single Jew
THERE
the City of Detroit who is
not wholeheartedly back of The
Chronicle — its policies, its prin-
ciples, its methods of business, its
general high standard of journal-
ism. So well does The Chronicle
meet the Jewish Community's
newspaper requirements that such
men as Dr. Leo M. Franklin, David
W. Simons, M. L. Prentis, David
A. Brown, Fred M. Butzel, Samuel
Summerfield, Julian Krolik, Henry
Wineman and scores of others (the
biggest men in Detroit) too nu-
merous to mention, have expressed

themselves verbally and in writing
that there is no need in Detroit for
any other Anglo-Jewish newspa-
pers.

NONETHELESS,

there spring
up from time to time newspa-
pers of the mushroom variety pub-
lish a special edition and quit, or
those that expect to gain politi-
cal vantage (something that The
Chronicle has always shunned).
Several attempts to publish other
Jewish newspapers have been
made since The Chronicle has been
publishing, but they have all gone
by the board for various reasons.

URING the stunted lives of

such publications, their sell-
ing arguments consist principally
in slandering The Chronicle.

HE CHRONICLE has never
countered with such tactics.
The Chronicle shall not come down
from its well fixed plane of dignity
and composure—which has won
for The Chronicle the respect and
admiration of the Gentile as well
as the Jewish community, not only
of Detroit and Michigan but also
of the entire country.

$3 1 502,000 in June

Each year the Detroit Life Insurance Company celebrates June as "President's"
Month" in honor of its President, M. E. O'Brien.
During the "President's Month" just closed, new insurance totaling $3,502,000
was written in Michigan, bringing the 1927 total to $13,580,000.

HERE is no organization in
Detroit that has been without
the encouragement and nourish-
ment of The Chronicle these past
eleven years.

1. THE CHRONICLE HAS SERVED TIIE COM MUN-
NITY FOR OVER ELEVEN YEARS, AND IS BY FAR THE
OUTSTANDING JEWISH NEWSPAPER IN MICHIGAN
IN ANY FIELD.

2. THERE IS SCARCELY A JEWISH FAMILY IN
MICHIGAN THAT IS WITHOUT THE CHRONICLE,
LOOKING FORWARD TO ITS ARRIVAL INTO THE
HOME EVERY WEEK. GIVING THE FULL ACCOUNTS
OF ALL JEWISH ACTIVITIES—SOCIAL, FRATERNAL
AND CONGREGATIONAL, OF DETROIT, THE NATION,
AND TILE ENTIRE WORLD.

3. FOR OVER ELEVEN YEARS THE CHRONICLE
HAS GIVEN ITS SPACE GENEROUSLY TO EVERY
JEWISH ORGANIZATION WITHOUT BIAS, NEVER
ONCE BEING ACCUSED OF PARTISANSHIP.

4. THE CHRONICLE IS THE ONLY JEWISH NEWS-
PAPER IN MICHIGAN PRINTED IN ENGLISH THAT
PUBLISHES THE FULL NEWS DISPATCHES OF THE

This institution makes every possible effort to live up to its motto, "The Com-

of the people of Detroit and Michigan year after year.
