LONDON.— (J. T. A.)—The British
of English .lewry to raise the ques-
t tion of the mistreatment of the Jew-
ish popubition in Roumania, in the
government will be asked in the name
Ceouncil of the League of Nations, ac-
cording to a decision taken by the
board if Jewish deputies, the federa-
tion of Jewish conitnunities in Eng-
land, at its monthly meeting held here.
This decision was taken when the
board adopted a strung resolution of
protest and condemnation against the
antislewish excesses in !Muntenia, for
I which the Reiumanian government was
. held responsible.
The adoption of this resolution
I marks is radical departure in the
policy of the board in its relations
'toward the Roumanian government.
For the past seven years the board
of Jewish deputies has always at-
tempted to maintain friendly relations
with the Roumanian government, re-
jecting any proposal to submit a com-
!plaint and to invoke the aid of the
League of Nations with regard to the
attitude of other governments toward
their Jewish populations. This de-
parture WAS 11111.k. necessary, it was
explained, due to the fact that the
position of the Jewish population in
Roumania has become so intolerable
that further toleration of this state of
affairs would be the failing of Eng-
lish Jewry in its duty toward Rou-
manian Jews.
Adopt Resolution Unanimously.

,I

The resolution which was adopted
unanimously, expresses protest against
"the barbarous attacks of the persons,
property and honor of our Roumanian
co-religionists" and against "the fail-
ure of the Roumanian government to
protect its loyal Jewish population in
accordance with the provisione of the
Roumanian constitution and the inter-
national treaties."
