FIFTEENTH
ANNIVERSARY

For many years, the Detroit Life Insurance
Company has made a practice of extending a
special honor to its Vice-President, Mr. Morris
Fishman, by designating March as Fishman
Month, in the agency campaign. This year, par-
ticular interest is taken in the Fishman Month
program, for the Company has set a goal of $3,-
500,000 of new business as its objective.
President M. E. O'Brien, in his letter, sent to
every agent of the Detroit Life, throughout
Michigan, aptly expresses the sentiment of this
great business institution when he says:
"Most of you know that for fifteen years no man has

been more intimately associated with me in the upbuild-
ing of the Detroit Life organization than your friend, and
my friend. Vice-President Fishman. Most of you know,
too, that for many years you have followed the honored
custom of selecting the month of March as an opportunity.
personally, to express your sentimental and business re-
spect for our worthy Vice-President, Mr. Fishman. I have
set a goal of $3.500.000 for Fishman Month. No one real-
izes more than I do the fact that it will take the united
co-operation and the most energetic effort of every friend
of the Company for us to reach such a stupendous figure.
We are going to put forward that effort. We are going
to ask every friend of the Company to help us show Mr.
Fishman something of our regard for his services, for
the Company. for his clients. for his fellow agents and
for the people sened by the Detroit Life.
"Well do I remember when the Detroit Life. as an
active entity. flit set out to achieve a record of 'A Mil-
lion A Month' in new business Three and one-half mil-
lion for March again will mark a forward Aep in our
progress, and nothing could be more fitting on the Fif-
teenth Anniversary of Mr. Fishman's association with our
Company.
"In these years he has builded the greatest life in-
surance agency in the city. measured by volume of pro-
duction. efficiency in organization and maintenance of
morale. The reason that every Detroit Life agent is par-
ticularly anxious to honor Vice-President Fishman is
based on his knowledge of the fact that no life insurance
man ever so unselfishly concerned himself with the ap-
plication of the principle of self-immolation as applied
to business.
"Mr. Fishman always responds to the call of his
friends when they want help for a worthy cause. A year
az.o. when Mr. duck set the goal for Faman Month at
three million. I thought he was too optimistic. The total
reached was $3.373.611. Now I realize that an increase
over that amount is asking an astonishingly large volume.
Yet I know that the success of the Detroit Life is based
on the thought• always. to go ahead. and never to be satis-
fied simply ea:ailing last year's record.
..W e mu..-4 get our eyes on a desirable goal and we
may rea..:.anab: -.- be sure to accomplish our purpt -tze only
when we are determined to be satisfied with progres ,."

We feel sure that the people of Detroit, as
well as the people of the entire State of Michi-
gan, are interested in our program, and we know
that if our aim succeeds, the greatest measure of
service will not be to our Company, nor to our
agents, nor yet in the honor given to Mr. Fish-
man. but to the people who are sufficiently inter-
ested to become the policyholders or to add to
their present coverage, with our Company, by
reason of our campaign. Their number will be
legion, we feel sure, and each and every one
served will be better off financially. morally and
every other way, by reason of a contract with
our Company.
