The Junior B'nai B'rith is complet•
ing plans for its first social function.
Miss Beatrice Rader, chairman of the
dance committee, is endeavoring to
make this affair the outstanding so-
cial enterprise of the season. Bea-
trice Rader, AI Lewis and I. Sol Ro-
SellInall were among the members
that procured the greatest amount of
advertising matter for the dance pro-
gram. Winifred Raney, the well-
known Grinnell Bros. pianist, will
render some novel and unusual solos.
Bill Lankin's Serenaders of radio
fame will furnish the music, while
the reception committee will see to it
that everyone has a good time. An
, invitation is extended to those wish-
, ing to become acquainted with the
members of the Junior B'nai B'rith
' and their work to attend the first an-
nual ball to he given Sunday, Dec.
• 19, at the B'nai B'rith Community
Center, 275 East Ferry avenue. Ad-
mission is 75 cents and tickets are
obtainable either from members or
at the door. Dancing starts promptly
at 9 o'cloCk.

ids, an adjunct of the Synagogue of
Congregation B'nai Israel, in charge
of Jude 1,. Wise, produced an inter- 1
esting play, "Ilancha In America,"
at the auditorium of the school build- ,
ing on Sunday, Dec. 12, following the I
Feast of Chanukah.
Among the performers of the play
were the following: Miss Mollie
Laevin, as honcho; Miss Fannie I
Markham, Miss Eva Belkin, Miss Bar•I
barn Helfenbein, !ferry Greenfield
end Bernard Fine of the advanced
classes of the Ilebrew School.
Dr. Nachman Heller, the well-
known scholar and author, who ha s
been sojourning in Detroit for the
last few months, visited Grand Rap-
ids as the guest of Rev. Enoch Hoch-
berg, minister of Ahavath Achim
Synagogue, and delivered a series of
addresses at the synagogues and the
Ilebrew School.

Chanukah Program:
Through the efforts of Mrs. Ralph
Paul, chairman of the entertainment
committee, the children of the Sun-
day School classes of Congregation
Emanuel enjoyed a delightful after-
noon on Sunday, Nov. 28. Mrs. Paul,
assisted by Mrs. Hannah Horwitz,
distributed toys and boxes of candy
to the pupils. Each child also re-
ceived a candelabra and a box of
Chanukah candles.
