tire neighborhood, was held. The pro-
gram, opened by selections given by
Glass' 35 piece juvenile band, was fol-
lowed by a few words of welcome by

Rabbi A. M. Ashinsky. I. Beckman,
president of the Emanuel Congrega-
tion, gave the introductory remarks in
which he presented Seymour Tilchen,
president of the Young Etnanuels, as
chairman of the evening. Following
the talk explaining the ultimatum of
the organization and the significance
of the Dedicattion of the Scriptures,
honors for holding and receiving the
Scrolls of the I.aw were bought with
an unusual response. J. Rosenberg,
principal of the high school depart-
ment of the United Hebrew Schools,
addressing the audience, told how
down through the ages the Torah alone
was responsible for keeping the in-
tegrity of the Jewish nation. The
program was concluded with musical
numbers given by the band as the
Scrolls were being ushered in, and
with the singing of the memorial
services by Cantor Milkovisky for the
deceased mother of the donors of the
scriptures, M. and J. Birnbaum. Re-
freshments were served at the close
of the ceremonies.
Commenting on the outcome of the
affair, Rabbi Ashinsky remarked,
"The dedication ceremonies have been
unusually successful from every angle,
and they have left a lasting impres-
sion on all that attended.”
Alexander Friedman, chairman of
the committee on arrangements and
his assistants, Hanna Katzer, Betty
and Ida Karbd, and Judith Ashinsky,
are to be given the credit for establish-
ing the function as unique in the
minds of Detroit Jewry.

No Comparable Quality
Near Its Price

In every phase of chassis construction, the Hupmobile
Six reveals the characteristic sturdiness which alone
insures long life and low costs.

Many of these superiorities you will detect at a glance.
You will note a costly reinforced frame of heavy steel,
built especially strong and rigid to support the weight
of closed bodies.
You will see a total spring length of 91 inches for a
wheelbase of 114 inches—providing extraordinary cush-
ioning for passengers and mechanism alike.
