Professional football got off to a
good start this past week. The New
York Giants, led by Coach Joe Alex-
, ander, defeated the famous Hartford
Blues, one of the best professional
teams in the game. Alex's team
sprung a big surprise by wining 21

to have made Alex better. He played

The opening of the college football
season brought to light a tremendous
number of Jewish names as players
on the various university teams. This
should be a big year for Jewish foot-
ball players. At Columbia in their
