Ida Geliebter, a pupil of the Jew-
ish Centers Association Music School,
won the Mayhee School championship
in the city-wide music grades, piano
playing contest (elementary division.)
Ida is 11 years old and has had two
years training at the music school
under the direction of Miss Edith El-
la Davis, who is a member of the fac-
ulty of the Jewish Centers Music
School.
According to the rules of the con-
test, winners of the school contest are
eligible for the district contest and
later on for the city-wide contest.
The winner of the city-wide contest
wil !receive a baby grand piano, while
all winners in the district contest will
receive free scholarships to the vari-
ous musical conservatories.
The authorities of the Jewish Cen-
ters Association are very much elated
inasmuch as 1.1a has received her en-
tire training in the Association's Mu-
sic School. This activity as well as
all the other activities of the Jewish
Centers Association is supported by
the Community Fund.
Quite a number of the students of
this school are enrolled for the inter-
mediate contest.
Bendetson Netzorg is chairman of
the Music School and the following
are members of the staff: S. Szmula-
wiez, violin; Walter Blumenau, vio-
lin; Edith Ella Davis, piano and har-
mony; Clara A. Waldron, piano; and
Harry Bradlin, piano. Milton M. AI-1
exander is president of the Jewish
Centers Association and sponsors the
music school, among its many activi-
ties.
