rendered several violin and piano se-
lections, respectively, and displayed
exceptional talent. The boys are pu-
pils of Ilya Scholnick and 1. P. Coffee
of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.
Leonard Braun, noted Detroit
tenor, rendered the following vocal
selections in a wonderfully clear tone
and was received in an enthusiastic
manner: "Ilamavdil," by J. M. Rum-
shisky; "A Heim," arranged by Are
Nadel; "Dom Berdichever's 'Al
Cheit,'" arranged by Leonard Braun;
"Tanchum," by Solomon Golub; "Du-
dele," arranged by Leo Low. Alan
Kopelson accompanied Mr. Braun.
Boris S. Holmstock of The Detroit
Jewish Chronicle recited "Dos Leben
Fun Di Toite," by Jukov Marinow,
in a splendid manner. Others on the
program were Miss Doris Sperling,
soprano, who sang "Rachem," by
Zucca," and "Do Not Go, My Love,'
by Richard Ilageman, and the Har-
i manic Trio.

Banquet of the United Palestine Appeal

Mrs. Goldye Nairin Applebaum of
2871 East Grand boulevard died in
Harper Hospital on Wednesday,
March 31, after a long illness. She
was 37 years of age. Mrs. Apple-
baum was interested en charity work
and was identified with the Detroit
chapter of Hadassah, the Ladies Aux-
iliary of Shaarey Zedek and the Bicur
Cholera Society.
Mrs. Applebaum is survived by her
husband, Myer; her mother, Mrs. L.
Nairin, and two brothers, Edward
and Dr. Z. I. Nairin.
Funeral services were held at the
home Friday, April 2, at 10:30 a. m.,
Rabbi A. M. Hershman officiating.
Interment took place at Beth Olem
Cemetery.

died suddenly at his home on Tues-
day, March 23. Mr. MacWilliams is
survived by his wife, Ethel MacWil-
liams (Ethel Tobias of Detroit) and
two children. Interment took place
in Chicago.
