PLAN PURIM BALL FOR
. BIALYSTOK BENEFIT

The Bialystoker Verband, an or-
ganization composed of former resi-
dents of Bialystok and vicinity and
persons having relatives and friends
in that district, will give a Purim ball
on Sunday evening, Feb. 28, at the
Philadelphia and Byron Talmud To-
rah. The proceeds from the affair
will go towards the relief of some of
the 50,000 Jews living in the Bialy-
stok district. The Jews in this district,
as well as most of Eastern Europe,
are practically starving and their
only hope lies in aid from American
Jewry. The Verband wishes to do its
share in sending come relief and for
this reason asks the public to attend
the Purim ball. Miss Sara Epstein of
520 Medbury avenue is in charge of
tickets.
The members of the committee ar-
ranging the affair are: Mrs. Leo Lip-
nick, chairman; Mrs. Oscar Warren,
vice-chairman; Miss Sara Epstein,
treasurer; Miss Shirley Saslov, sec-
retary; Nettie Lubetzky, Louise Gold-
berg, Alex Grant, Roy Kurian, Boris
Cohen, David Rubenstein and Mrs.
A. Surasky.

Masonic Auditorium of Detroit. The
most modern and elahorte stage equip- 1

seating capacity of 5,000, which will
be taxed for the opening night. The
opening event is presented by the
