"Aloma" Closes on Jan. 18.
"Atoms of the South Seas," that col-
orful melodrama at the Garrick Thea-
ter, ends its fourth, and last week on
Saturday Jan. 16. This melodrama,
drenched in atmosphere and local col-
or of the South Seas, has been remark-
ably succesful here. It has played to
capacity houses at every performance.
No story of "Aloma of the South Seas"
would be complete without mention of
the aides that give it its local color.
There's the brown-skinned maidens
who roam about, the hula hula danc-
ers and the Hawaiian musicians with
those steel guitars which grind out
those alluring tunes. The theme song
"Aloma" is woven all through the
play.
