NEW YORK.—(J. T. A.) — "The
B'nai Benjamin, the sons of the early
colonists in Palestine, have made fur-
ther strides in their work of rebuild-
ing our homeland," Mrs. Joseph Fels,
internationally famous Jewish philan-
thropist, declared to a representative
of the J. T. A., on her return from
an extended stay in Palestine.
Mrs. Fels, as president, and Captain
Alexander Aaronsohn, as vice-presi-
dent, created the Fels Foundation,
which will be devoted primarily to the
task of helping in the rebuilding of
Palestine. Mrs. Fels has taken a great
interest in the activities of the B'nai
Benjamin, donating to them a few
months ago $50,000, by purchasing
shares in the B'nai Benjamin Bank in
the amount of $40,000 and distribu-
ting them among the B'nai Benjamin
members, and establishing the Aron
Aaronsohn Agricultural Fund with
another $10,000 to begin with.
"The B'nai Benjamin," Mrs. Fels
continued, "constitutes a sound foun-
dation for a healthy and vigorous and
high minded Jewish community in Pal-
estine."
"Zichron is in the process of 'work-
ing wonders' by being true to truth.
She will prove worthy of her noble
position. Its nobility is of every kind.
It is nobly placed—on heights.
It
looks towards the great hills and
beautiful blue sea. The sky rests lov-
ingly over it, round and full and dome-
like. And within Zichron are great
souled people. These, even more than
Zichron's other assets, make one feel
on holy ground. By God's nearest and
earnest it is impregnated.
"Thus richly endowed, Zichron walks
the ways of greatness. It seems to me
I can see this in every detail of its
doings. Indeed, I know it is so. The
signs are conclusive. The spirit per-
vading it, most so. A great Riviera

estine, redeemed from the hands of the
Turk in 1917-1918, must be preserved.
Damascus is now in ruins. The
Jewish quarter with its Ghetto of over
16,000 poor Jews suffered first, and
suffered the most. Palestine and Jeru-
salem are in peace and security and
they must be kept thus until that great
day when prophesy will be converted
into glorious history and the chariots
of Israel and the horsemen thereof
stand on the hills of Galilee, Judea,
