The Detroit Jewish Open Forum,
recently organized by a group of
public-spirited citizens, has asked the
following men and women to serve
on its advisory board: Morris D.
Waldman, David W. Simons, Milton
M. Alexander, Fred M. Butzel, Ber-
nard Ginsburg, A. J. Koffman, M.
Zackheim, Bernard Isaacs, Sidney
Alexander and Mrs. J. II. Ehrlich. A
meeting of the advisory board has
been called for next Monday after-
noon at Mr. Simons' office. The Open
Forum has as its aim the acquainting
of the community with leading pres-
ent-day Jewish problems and leading
Jewish men and women. Madame
Anitta Mueller-Cohen of Vienna, the
first speaker, talked on conditions
among the Eastern and Central Eu-
ropean Jews and Herman Bernstein,
editor of the New York Tribune, will
speak on "The Jews Among the Na-
tions Today" at the Philadelphia and
Byron Talmud Torah next Thursday
evening. Judge Jacob Panken of New
York, president of the Ort, will speak
for the forum next month.

The regular Sunday night dances
which have been inaugurated at
Emanuel Synagogue and which are
held every week under the auspices
of a group of young people affiliated
with the congregation have proven
very successful and will be continued,
probably, throughout the winter. Fin-
zel's Orch•tra plays at every dance
and has been one of the reasons for
the affairs' popularity. In addition to
raising funds for the synagogue, to
which the proceeds go, the dances are
get-together meetings for young folks
residing in the Northwest section of
the city.
