that every time a religious fight is on in this country, whic
about every 24 hours, that it's a fight between Klan and anti-Klan. I can
remember quite a few years back and it requires no strain on my memory
to recall fights between Protestants and Catholics long before the present
Klan was ever dreamed of. In Detroit the political fight between Bowlei,
alleged to represent Klan interests, and Smith, a Catholic, for mayor, does

here we have another example of keeping alive the fires of religious
nate in this country. But the worst is yet to come. And it is so bad that
it is in a class by itself. I refer to a rotten sheet called the American
Standard—and if that is the standard of America, God save the country!
This magazine was sent to me by a woman reader who accompanied it with
letter too long for publication. The American Standard appeals, like all
a other gutter journals, to prejudice and ignorance. It is exactly on the
same low level as Henry Ford's paper and I hope the day will come when
such publications that serve only to arouse racial and religious hatred
should be denied admission to the United States mails. As for the matter
that the American Standard carries, it's all old, worn-out stuff that was
used by bigots when the editor of the present publication was in swaddling
Americans, a Protse-

tent country for Protestants. But there are always enough ignoramuses
to whom the silliest trash appeals.

Now, St. Denis may talk as much as he pleases about Dreyfuss and

that what Mr. Dreyfuss does or does not do is "one of the tricks of his

the various committees were given.
An extensive membership campaign
is to be held and it is the hope of the
board that the membership will soon

the United Jewish Campaign for Eastern European Jews. Rabbi Stephen
Wise threw down the gauntlet by charging bad faith on the part of Brown

adopted to harmonize the Zionist and non-Zionist groups amounted to noth-

Someone in Miami who has the time and the inclination may send this
paragraph marked to Walter St. Denis, one of the sporting writers of the

The warm weather in the early part of the season result-

a manufacturer to meet his obligations sold us these coats
at a big sacrifice.
The styles are the newest—new collars, new flares, new
border effects--trimmings of rich Hudson Fox, Natural

I have before me a copy of the New Age Magazine, which states that
it is the "official organ of the Supreme Council of the Thirty-third and
Last Degree of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry for
the Suthern Jurisdiction of the United States- of America." Considerable
spacee is taken in this issue (which has been sent to me by a reader) to
