A Cranbmok chair, covered in buff velour •a,
the sort that everyl iving room needs. You know
the type—correct, graceful, omventional. You
aimply must have one Or two of them, jut as you
must ask certain people to your panic., because
everyone expects to we them there. The important
thing about this particular chair, though, is that it
costa only $25.
My two new theirs, of con rw, had to be scam,
penied by end tables, and here they were in solid
walnut for 911 apiece —.Oh a book trough shelf
for the new fall crop of book.
Ihd you know that the tea wagon and cooking
chair are about the otal y strictly American furniture
inventions! We comfort-loving moderns thought
them up—and the decorator who created the tea-
art conlesses on his memoirs to having received

into vogue even in old English hot.. where they

Maar no hostess would think of serving
without one, especially when they can be had

Elimination is sometimes the most effective form
of decoration. So I decided the other morning, and
promptly wrapped two green plush chairs, of the
early Pullman car period and three tables that had
no noose at all for esittenre. To replace the table.,
I selected pot one—an oconnal table of genuine
walnut, carved in lions' heads—the work of a cabi-
net maker who knew hi. tools and his art. It has

effect that it was the policy of the
