We ask you to bring up this ques- tion at all meetings of your local clubs and try to get your club to submit a resolution for the exclusion of the Jews at the federation conference in the autumn. It is time to introduce the Aryan clauses into the constitution of our federation. Chicago Man Drives to Los An- geles in 80 Hours in Packard Car. Over roads which for hundreds of miles had been washed out by cloud- bursts and in the face of many other discouragements, Samuel Klein, Chi- cago jeweler, has just set up a new automobile road record between Chi- cago and Los Angeles. The fast run was made in a Packard car which Mr. Klein had driven previously a total of 40,000 miles. It was exactly 80 hours after he left Chicago that he was officially checked in at the end of the run in Los Angeles. The best previotis elapsed time was 100 hours and 43 minutes. At Needles, Calif., it was learned that the road for the next 200 miles had been carried away by cloud- bursts. Jagged rocks, exposed when the top surfaces of the road were washed away, caused many tire "blow-outs" and punctures. It was estimated that Mr. Klein and his three relief drivers who went the full dis- stance with him spent more than 10 hours on tire repairs. --CONTRACTORS-- HOME BUILDERS Are Recommending Our Lumber and Interior Finish We are at a loss to find any proper comment on this piece of news. We believe that the only counterblow that should be dealt to this Junker element would be to petition all American gymnastic organizations to boy- cott the German Gymnastic Federation until it officially retracts this gross insult not only to the German Jews to the Jews of America as well. It numbers thousands of active members and its annual snort meeting is one of the great events in the world of sports. Harold M. Abra- hams (it seems that this gentleman's name is bound to come up when you 1 talk of sport in England) is the president of the association and Captain B. M. Woolf the secretary. Baroness Goldsmid is one of the most generous patrons and has donated some beautiful prizes to these yearly meets. If we had plenty of time on hand, we would devote ourselves to the task of organizing, every few years-in America or in England-a meeting between the best renresentatives of this Jewish athletic association and our own Y. M. II. A.'s. What a boost it would be for the Jewish athlete the world over-and we would not be surprised if some of the world's records would tremble and away and perhaps fall tottering to the ground. The British athletic team, representing the two English universities, Oxford and Cambridge, was defeated by a Yale-Ilarvard combination in one of the greatest international intercollegiate track and field meets ever held in this country. The contest was extremely close. Britain won six events; the same number was captured by the American universities. So the victory was decided by counting second places and, according to this count, America had 71/4 points and England 41/4. We are looking back at this event because it is universally admitted that the victory could have gone to Oxford-Cambridge if Harold Abrahams, the world's peer of sprinters, student at Cambridge, could have made the trip across the ocean. Unfortunately, Abrahams, due to an accident, was out of competition and the English collegiates lost the 100-yard dash, which nobody could have taken from Abrahams and which would have resulted in the final score of 7 points to 6 for England.
