ers, is dark skin, large black eyes,
slender body, quick of movement, •
large, thick, but shapely lips, small
ears, thick, angular nose, jet black
hair, long, bony hands and fingers.
This is also Charles Baudelaire's idea
of a Jewish belle, in his great poem
"La Juive." Other painters have por-
trayed the Jewish woman as light-
haired, small-eyes, fleshy, with long
hooked nose, thin bps and big mouth.
The Jewish neck is long and Rem-
brandt gives her a short one. The
models of most artists reveal, to the
trained eye of the doctor, pathological •
symptoms. For instance, the great-
est painter's idea of the most beau-
tiful woman has staring eyes, show-
