CHAIRMAN OF AUXILIARY'
MASQUE BALL OF MAR. 29j

On the second chapter of Isaiah,
And it shall come to pass in the last
days," Cantor Jassinowsky has made a
beautiful composition which charmed
many of the music critics who heard
it. The prophet describes the great
happiness that awaits the future gen-
erations when the Messiah will come,
"Then all nations shall be welded to-
gether under one ideal and true peace
shall reign over the world; then
swords shall be beaten into plow-
shares and spears into pruning-hooks;
nation shall not lift up sword against
nation neither shall they learn •Nar
any more."
Cantor Jassinowsky pictures all
this in wonderful colors and tones.
His "Prophesy of Isaiah" is a grandi-
ose work well suited to the divine
conceptions of the prophet. With
this composition, the talented Jassi-
nowsky opened up a new branch in
the field of Jewish song, that of pro-
phetic movie', which has as yet not
been touched.
A group of Jewish men of learn-
ing, scholars and musicians who heard
the music were so inspired by it that
they decided to let the Zionist leaders
know about this novel composition.
