The English press widely published an official announcement by the

Zionist Organization here that a
sculptor, Professor Henry Glicenstein, would be presented by London

will take place in the presence of Lard Balfour, will he a part of the opening
ceremonies at the university. The press recalls that the bust was exhibited
in the Royal Academy, London, last year, when it was highly praised by
critics. The London Times stated at that time that it was "the finest piece
of sculpture of the year." Chief Rabbi Dr. Joseph II. llertz is leaving for
Palestine to attend the dedication of the university.

Finance scandals, which stirred German public opinion in connection
with the frauds discovered in the I'russian State Bank, will be investigated
by a special commission appointed by the Prussian diet. Beside the Jewish
bankers, Kutinsker and Jacob Michel, concerning whom anti-Semitic papers
waxed vehement, a great number of responsible officials of the state bank
are involved. It was stated that the purpose of the commission will lie to
inquire into the reckless advance of money by the hank. Of particularr
interest is the case of the Mortgage Bank, which is controlled by the state
bank. Officials of this bank advanced money to high Prussian officials and
ex-officers of the army on ridiculous securities. Failure followed.
