Elly Ney, Famed Woman Pian-

ist, Will Play Tschaikov-
sky Concerto Sunday.

Ossip Galerilowitsch will make his
only appearance this year as conduc-
tor of a popular concert this Sunday
afternoon at 3:30. The concert is
made doubly attractive by the ap-
pearance as soloist of Elly Ney, one
of the greatest women pianists of this
Ney playml
generation. Madame
with the orchestra at a pair of sym-
phony concerts three years ago with
much surcess. Early this season she
was in the city in at piano recital.
Nladame Ney will play the con-
certo lat Tschaikovsky in B fiat minor.
It is said by competent music lovers
that no woman has been able to play
this concerto as Ney does since Teresa
Curren., was in her prime ;SO years
ago. It requires great physical
strength as well as musicianship and
this Madame Ney - has. The concerto
will be the last item on the program.
In the first part of the program
Gahrilowitsch will play the fa-
miliar overt ure to "The Merry Wives
leg Windsor." by Nicolai; the whole
of the tiret "Peer llynt" suite. by
Griot and the great symphonic poem
of Franz Liszt, "Tasso." Liszt drew
his lImpiraliell for this poem from the
tragic life of the great poet of the
Italian Renaissance.
