Mrs. Eva Goldberg, Detroit; Mrs.
Dora Schwartz, Los Angeles, and Mrs.
Fannie Richards, Chicago.
Mr. Schwartz came to Detroit when
a young man and began in a small
store a cigar manufacturing business
which grew to such proportions that
recently a third large plant was add-
ed to his factories. Ile was strongly
admired by his more than 600 em-
ployes, for he always showed a keen
interest in their welfare. He con-
stantly sought to improve the work-
ing conditions among his own em-
ployes, as well as among the employes
in industries in which his influence
was felt.
Mr. Schwartz was actively interest-
ed in Temple Beth El and many
fraternal and charitable organiza-
tions. Ile was a member of Ashlar

sons, Elks, Knights of Pythias and
the Masonic and Knollwood Country
