MEN!
Numerous readers have coked the to express an opinion of the Presi-
dent's apparent disinclination to take a starlit on the issue of the Klan. If
the President could disaseociate himself front Mr. Coolidge, the Republican
candidate for President, I am quite sure that he would take a position
alongside other thoughtful men of the nation who refuse to insult 100 per
cent Americanism by associating it with un organization that has helped
spread religious and race hatred in the United States.
tI
IT'S A DAISY
One man's guess is as good as another's, but in my opinion as an ob-
server and not as a partisan I believe that Calvin Coolidge has, because of
his refusal to take an out and out position on the Klan, lost the state of
New York, which, to say the least, is quite an important state in the coining
election. I think the President has been 111-advised and, unless all signs
fail, he will change front on the Klan issue before November.
