Morris Weinberg, who was a member of the Mos delegation to Europe,
has returned to New York. Together, with the other members of the dele-
gation who went to Europe to investigate the situation of the Jewish emi-
grants left stranded by the new American immigration law, he visited Eng-
land, France and Germany. Isir. Weinberg said efforts are being made to
facilitate the transportation of a large number of these refugees to Canada ,
permission having been obtained from the Canadian government. Negotia -
tions were also carried on with France to allow a number of Jewish refugees
stranded in French ports to remain in the country.

The legend spread by anti-Zionist agitators in the Mohammedan world
that the Jews intend to seize the Omar Mosque, which is built on the site of I
the Temple of Solomon, recently was discussed between Mohammedan rep-1
resentatives and the chief rabbinate of Palestine. The first act of the
Indian Moslem delegation, which is touring Moslem countries for the pur-
pose of strengthening Islam, was to visit the chief rabbinate. During a
conversation between the Mohammedan delegation and the rabbis, the
former asked specifically whether the Jews intended to seize the Omar
Mosque. The delegation was assured that no such intention existed and i
it left satisfied.

In • letter addressed to President Coolidge, Congresman Emanuel feller
of New York called attention to what he termed unfair treatment of Jewish
postal employes. He writes: "Men of Jewish faith who have remained
home on the Jewish New Year, the importance of which you emphasize in
your remarks, and the subsequent Pay of Atonement, have found them-
selves summarily dismissed. I have taken up several of these cases with the
postmaster of New York and subsequently with the office of the Postmaster
General in Washington, but my efforts heretofore have been futile I am
met with the lame excuse that it is necessary, because of the shortage of I
men, to compel Jews, despite their religious convictions, to work on these
high holidays. I am informed that employes of other religious denominations
are compelled to work on holidays which, according to their conscience,
should be given over to prayer and meditation. I invite your investigation
of this shocking state of affairs and ask you to lift up your hand to destroy
this practice."
