F. U. N. Girl..
The F. U. N. Girls organized two
months ago as a club to sponsor out-
of-door activities, such as hiking, ca-
noeing, tennis and other sports. The
officers are Rose Cornfield, president;
Fay Waronoff, secretary, and Marian
Fink, treasurer. The club entertained
the Alpine Social Club at the borne
of Marian Fink May 31. The next
hike of the club will be held Sunday,
June 22, when the members will walk
to Mount Clemens. The next meet-
ing will be held at the home of Fay
Lebedoff, Tuesday, June 17.

The semi-annual election of officers
of the Sigma Rho Tau Sorority took
place Sunday, May 25, at the home
of the Misses Elizabeth and Lillian

Athena Girls Club.
The Athena Girls Club held their
semi-annual election of officers Tues-
day evening, June 10, at the Y. W.
II. A. club house. The officers are
as follows: President, Miss Sophie
Blanche Schwartz; vice-president,
Miss Adeline Cohen; secretary, Miss
Frances Fogelson; treasurer, Miss
Sophie Schneider; sergeant-at-arms,
Miss Florence Horwitz. The follow-
ing committees were appointed:
Membership, Miss Sophie Victor, as-
sisted by Miss Dorothy Uretsky; pro-
gram, Miss Minnie Schneider, chair-
man, assisted by the Misses Florence
llorwitz and Fay Lichtenstein; pub-
licity reporter, Miss Adeline Cohen.
Final arrangements have been made
for the hay ride to be held Sunday,
June 15. All those attending are
asked to meet at the Y. W. II. A. club

Adolph Hollander, a young violin-
ist, who has spent the past year in
New York studying with Professor
Leopold Auer, is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. I.ouis Hollander of 4650 Brush
street. Before going to New York,
Mr. Hollander studied with Maurice
Warner, who is a member of the De-
troit Symphony Orchestra and con-
certmeister of the Detroit News Or-
chestra. Mr. Hollander is returning
from the east Saturday to spend sev-
eral weeks with his parents.

The North Woodward Branch of
the Jewish Women's European Wel-
fare Association met at 89 Rowena
street May 28. Two orphans, who
had been brought from Roumania 14
months ago, were adopted and placed
in a private home. Mesdames Samuel
Shatilander, I.ouis Ninon and Matilda
Sofer wehe appointed guardians of
the children. The children, Israel
and Miriam Berg, are 8 and 10 years
old, respectively. Provision was also
made 'for clothing and other expenses
for the orphans. A report of the
card party held June 4 at the Palais
de Dense was given by the chairman,
Mrs. J. II. Schwartz. Mrs. Joseph
Kraus of Chene street has given the
organization a linen lunch cloth to
be raffled at the card party. It was
won by Mrs. E. Meyers of 4467 Brush
street.

The Canadian American Club of
Michigan held its first annual ban-
quet

Philomathie.
Due to Shebuoth, no meeting of
the Philomathie Club was held Sun-
day, Jupe 8. The next meeting, June
15, will be the last regular meeting
of the year. Election of officers will
take place at this time and reports
of the various committees given. The
meeting will be held at the Kirby
Center. The model meeting will be
held June 25 at the Shaarey Zedek
Synagogue.
