FRESH AIR SOCIETY
ASKS FOR LIBRARY

A Special
Group of

Desires Books for Young Guest. at
Summer Camp.

The Fresh Air Society, which con-
ducts a summer camp for Jewish chil-
dren at lake St. Clair accommodat-
ing 200 boys and girls every two
weeks, has issued a request for books
for a children's library at the camp.
During inclenient weather, officers of
the society have found, when the va-
cationists are required to remain in-
doors, the need for books is acutely
felt.
The United Jewish Charities, which
co-operates closely with the Fresh
Air Society, will call for such books
of interest to children as may be do-
nated. Persona who may wish to con-
tribute old books to the library are
asked to call the office of the United
Jewish Charities, Cadillac 0741,
which will send for the books.

The G. G. Players of the dramatic
class of the Y. W. H. A. presented
two plays before an appreciative au.
dience Wednesday evening at Temple
Beth El. "Pygmalion and Galatea."
the first play, derives its theme from
an ancient Greek myth, the story of
a statue which comes to life becau,
of the human love of the sculptor
who had formed it. The complica•
tions which arise because of the inno-
cence shown by the beautiful woman
who had been a statue were admir-
ably portrayed by the girls in the'
cast. The second play, "Will o' the
Wisp," is a fantasy telling how a'
beautiful girl, who cannot speak,I
lures people over the cliffs to destruc-
(ion. She dances like a fairy sprite
and in the end causes the death of
the poet's wife, the poet being the
, only person who can withstand her
' wiles.
