Orthodox Seminary to Move tc
Uptown New York.

NEW YORK.—From the heart o
New York's Jewish section on the low
er East Side, where it has been lo
rated for over 40 years, the Rabb
Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminar
the first Orthodox institution of it
kind established in America, will b
moved from 301 East Broadway t
uptown New York, according to a
announcement made by Samuel Greer
stedin, chairman of the site committe
of the seminary.
The committee, which includes tii
than Lamport and .1. Polstein, deck
ed after surveying the real estat
field of Greater New York, to select
site for the new seminary in Manha
tan or the Bronx between One Hui
dyed and Fiftieth and Two Hundredt
streets, Mr. Greenstein said: "An ei
tire block will be purchased," he al
nounced, "in order to provide ad
quote space for the proposed expel
lion of the seminary, which is to I
enlarged to include a Jewish colleg
