-- TREMENDOUS SUCCESS OF "GOLDEN
BRIDE" COMPELS ITS REPETITION
THIS SUNDAY AT ORCHESTRA HALL

"The Golden Bride," one of the
greatest musical comedy successes of
the Jewish stage this year, was enthu-
siastically received Sunday evening,
when the company headed by Mischa
and Lucy German excelled itself in
the performance at Orchestra Ilall.
In the number of people that parti-
cipated, the dance and musical selec-
tions and the stage settings, the play
was without a doubt the best yet stag-
ed here.
In spite of the packed house that at-
tended the performance, the numerous
requests from people who were un-
able to see it last Sunday evening
compelled the repeating of the play
this Sunday evening.
J. L. l'earl, manager of the local
Yiddish theater, announces that the
same cast that participated last Sun-
day evening will appear again this
Sunday for the re-staging of this
great play.

Max Skulnik, as "Kalman Kliam-
ke," is an interestingly comical figure
in the play, and Mr. Skulnik again
distinguishes himself in portraying
the character of the small Russian vil-
lage.
Bertha Gutentag, the Argentinian
star, does well in her role as "Shein-
dele," the mother of the "golden
bride."
Others playing leading parts are
hfax Rosen, Esteher Field, Ethel Dorf,
Morris Goldberg, Abe Dorf, Isidor
Friedman, Max Gurevitch, Ilarry
Shur, Sarah Skulnik, Tillie Lehrer
and M. Cooper.
In addition to these, there are many
dancers, who appear in dancing num-
bers, four Russian dances and a group
of singers, bringing the total of actors
up to 46.
"The Golden Bride" is a play worth
seeing. Its success of last Sunday
warrants another full house this week.

Jan. 15, 16 and 17.
This year's show will he marked by
the absence of the bedlam of noise
that characterized the last one, for
exhibitors have agreed not to demon-
strate their loud speakers by the ac-
tual reception of broadcast programs.
Dancing will be held each night from

Musical Events of
the Year.

The appearance of three artists,
Nina Tarasova, Alexander Akimoff
and Lazar Weiner, at one concert, at
Orchestra Hall, on Sunday evening,
Jan. 20, will undoubtedly be one of
the finest musical affairs of the year.
Mine. Tarasova has earned for her-
self an enviable reputation with her
masterful interpretation of Russian
folk songs, and her great success here
two years ago warrants a full house.
Her accompanying artists, Messrs.
Akimoti and Weiner, have been laud-
ed by leading critics in the country
and their part in the program with
Mme. Tarasova marks the event as
an outstanding feature.
