Special pass-books are provided,
somewhat similar to those used in (nai-
ls, lion with Christmas Savings Clubs.
These pass-books show the weekly de-
posits required to "buy" $1,00:101 - 1 the
one, two, three, or four-year plan, re-
spectively.

It is interesting to know that, on
this plan, the purchaser of $1,000 re-
, eiv•s interest on his mney, which re-
duces the cost of his purchase. The
buyer actually pays less than he re-
c•ives, while in the purchase of a
ht me, automobile, furniture, etc., on
the partial payment plan the purchas-
er must pay interest either directly or
indirectly, which adds to the cost.
The attractiveness of such an easy
and convenient method of neellnIU-
luting a worth-while capital should ap-
peal to every one and particularly to
those who find it difficult to save with-
out some definite plan.

Two years ago, in the city of De-
troit, on the corner of W'oodward and
Columbia .streets, was commenced in
a small way what is now known 11.
Ifni Mary Lee Candy Shops. This first
little kitchen, although not at all well
bested, was so successful from the
' ,tart, on account of the delightful
erta, dness of the candies and the dainty
and refined simplicity of the shop it-
self, that many of the finest people of
' the city requested that at least one
other shop, more conveniently located,
- be openenl. In response to these re-
quests a shop was opened at Wood-

pus, Griswold street, and in the
Poseadway Strand theater. Visitors to
the city, quickly realizing the good-
ness of Mary Lee Candies, besieged
the Mary Lee office to open shops in
their towns. Therefore, as quickly as
was possible, shops were opened in
Toledo, Grand Rapids, Flint, Cleve-
land, Lansing and Bay City.
Although Mary Lee has received
hundreds of flattering applications for
agencies - from several states, the pol-
icy of "May Lee Candies being sold

SEASON'S GREETINC$

Set your lips to the Shofar,
Waken a fiery blast,
Shrill to the heathen nations—
This slaughter shall be the last!
And send our Peace-greeting
Pealing from cot to throne,

On the Hebrew trumpet blown,
And the faith of the whole world's
peoples
Is the faith that is our own.

Another feature of the plan is that
the SI,000 actually costs the purchaser
but from $985.10 to $910.16. The in-
terest paid by the bank accumulates
to such an extent that this saving is
made possible.
