NATHAN JACOBSON

Nathan Jacobson, who passed
away at his home, 946 Farnsworth
avenue, 011 April 29, was 68 years
old and a resident of Detroit for
42 years. Ile is survived by his wife,
two daughters, 111rs. D. Rosenthal and
Mrs. I. Gross, and six sons, Ilarry
M., Abe, Harold E., Isadore, David
It. and Sol. Funeral services were
held from the family residence, with
Rabbi J. I.. Levin officiating.

Maccabees of Judaea.

The quarterly election of the Mac-
cabees of Judaea was held on Wed-
nesday, May 2, at the El Moshe syn-
agogue. Results were as follows:
Arthur Wendell, president; Sam Sil-
verstein, vice-president; Ilarry Sal-
lee, secretary; Nathan Lesser, treas-
urer; Sam Gold, reporter; Silverstein
and Lesser, members of the Senior
Council; Silverstein and Morris Gold-
man, members of the executive
board. Morris Goldman was appoint-
ed chairman of the program commit-
tee.
Israel Zilber, lender of the club,
who installed the officers, emphasized
the duties of the respective officers.
The installation was followed by talks
by the new officers.
During the program Sam Gold,
Morris Goldman, Arthur Wendell and
Daniel Levy respectively discussed
the following topics: Zionism, Young
Judaea, the Senior Council and the
Jewish Congress.

Detroit Young Judaea will cele-
brate the Shavuoth festival with an
entertainment and concert on Sunday
afternoon, May 27, at the Kirby Cen-
ter. More than 20 local clubs will
