CONFIRMS EINSTEIN
THEORY AS CORRECT

However, Attacked as
Plagiarist by Government
Astronomer.

Scientist,

SAN FRANCISCO.---1.1. C. B.1—
Results obtained from photographing
eclipses taken last September ni Aus-
tralia confirm Professor Einstein's
theory of relativity, according to the
statement issued by Professor Camp-
bell, president of the California Uni-
versity and head of the eclipse expe-
dition.
The photographs substantiate the
theroy beyond doubt and "no further
proof is necessary," Professor Camp-
bell asserts.

VALLEJO, Cal.—A statement say-
ing that he "vigorously contested"
the announcement made by Dr. W.
W. Campbell, director of Lick Ob-
servatory, that development of pho-
tographs taken during the last total
eclipse of the sun confirmed the Kin-
stein theory of relativity was made
public here by Capt. T. J.J. See, gov-

ernmont astronomer at Mare Island
Navy Yard,
After reading the Campbell state-
ment, Professor See said:
"The celebrated English physicist,
Henry Cavendish (1731-1810), cal-
culated the effect of Newton's theory
that the corpuscles of light are bent
toward the sun in passing near it
Mid in DM Dr. J. von Soldner, a
German physicist of eminence in his
day, actually derived the formula re-
cently used by Einstein. This was
122 years ago. Einstein never once
mentions Soldner in his writings. This
is bad enough, but the worst is yet
to come.
"It has been shown by Professor
Dr. E. Gehl-eke, director of the Im-
perial Physical and Technical Insti-
tute of Berlin (a position first filled
Leonard of Heidelberg, winner of the
by Helmholtz) and by Professor I'.
Nobel prize in physics, that Soldner
omitted a certain factor in his for-
mula of ISM, which error Einstein
also copied when he appropriated the
Einstein-Soldner formula in the Ein-
stein paper of 1911.. In a subse-
quent paper to the Berlin Academy
of Sciences, 1915, Einstein camou-
flaged this fraud as best he could, but
could not prevent its discovery and
exposure by Professors Leonard of
Heidelberg, (sehrcke of Berlin and

Westin of Stockholm. Professor
Westin charges Einstein with down-
right plagiarism, saying:
"'F'rom these facts the conclusion
seems inevitable that Einstein can-
not be regarded as a scientist of real
note. He is not an honest investi-
gator.' Thus Westin protested to the
directors of the Nobel Foundation
against the reward of Einstein."

PALESTINE AGENCIES
HEADQUARTERS MOVED

Announcement is made by the Pal-
estine Fund (Keren Ilayt-sod) that
beginning May 1, its headquarters
will be located at 111 Fifth avenue,
New York. Other institutions and or-
ganizations for Palestine will also oc-

quarters, among them the Zionist Or-
ganization of America, the Jewish
National Fund, the American Zion
Commonwealth, Iladassah, Kertm

Judaea.
The housing of these institutions
together with the Keren Ilayesod,
melt of them co-operating with the
latter in various ways, will, it is stat-
ed, result in substantial economies for
all of them, and for the Keren Haye-
s.' in particular.
