TWO DEBATES TO BE
HELD THIS SUNDAY

A double debate will be on the pro-
gram of Young Judaea activities this
Sunday afternoon at the Wilkins
street Talmud Torah, when the De-
fenders of the White and Blue and
the Maccabees of Judaea will discuss
the profiles, of the conipatability of
Reform Judaism with Zionism and the
Knights of Judaea meet the Tikvas1
Zion on the question of anti-Semitism.
'The debate between the Defenders
and the Maccabees will be held first, to
be followed by the Knights-Tikvas
debate. The latter will debate on the
question, "Resolved that anti-Semitism
has in the main benefited the Jewish
people as a whole," The Knights, up-
holding the affirmative, will be repre-
sented by Julius Kahatsky, captain,
Sam Firestone and Abraham Torgow.
The Tikvas team is to consist of Mol-
lie Chabensky, Eva Croll and Naomi
Buchhalter.
The first debate is to start at 2 p.
ne. and the second at 3 p. m. The
public is invited.

"Zemiroth" In the Polish Parliament

By M. MOSES,
Warsaw Correspondent of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency.

(Copyrighted, 1923, Jewish Correspondence Bureau.)

The new Polish Sejm is much more
interesting in its personnel than its
predecessor. It contains the very last
men that it was possible for Poland
to return to its legislative chamber.
Even the Peasants' Party is repre-
sented by its most capable members,
and on the Centre benches where the
Peasants' Party sit are to be found
university professors nad men of wide
culture.
A strange picture is that presented
by the left wing of the Sejm. There
we have the Socialist leader Daschin-
sky and the Cracow rabbi, Dr. Thon,
the assimilationist Socialist Dr. I)ia-
mandt, and the Zionist Nationalist
Isaac Gruenbaum, the Ukranian
"Batashka" and the Rabbi of Kutno,
the orthodox Jew Kirschbraun, and
the Socialist Dr. Schupper. Right at
the end, almost by the door, sit in
solitary state, Noah Prilutski and the
only Communist Deputy Lanzuzki.
The Senate contains a particularly
large proportion of clericals. They,
too, are divided on right and left.
On the right are a score or so of
Catholic priests and bishops with
great crosses on their breasts. On the
left are seated the Rabbis.

Club
Notes

Knights of Judaea.
The Knights of Judaea, at the meet-
ing held Tuesday evening, planned
the formation of a junior club and
also discussed the possibilities of a
membership drive, new members to
take the place of those members who
are to graduate into collegiate Zionist
societies upon graduation from high
school. Meyer Zeff and Joe Safran
were appointed on the literary com-
mittee. Morris Waxman, was chosen
chairman of the social committee and
Joseph Markel, chairman of the ab-
sentee committee.

The Sons of White and Blue held

appointed to draw up a constitution,
consisting of J. W. Solomon, A. Meis-

will be held at the home of J. W.

chosen to represent the club in the
debate to be held soon with the Macca-
