The officers of the Detroit Ilebrew
Orphan Home nod the committee that
was in charge of the dance held re-
cently at the Arcadia, issued a state-
ment thanking Detroit Jews for the
support given the organization in
lidding support the existing institu-
tion on Rowena street. The dance was
a social and financial success, and the
committee feels that local Jews have
given much encouragement to the
workers by their support.
The present home at 47 Rowena
street, the committee says, is too
small for the proper care of the 25 or-
phans now there and the hopes of the
organization is that local Jews will
continue to support the home no that
a newer and better home may soon
be built.

This is an interior view of the fur
salon of the Rollins Company, which
has earned the sobriquet of the "day-
light store" because of the clever ma-
nipulation of mirrors and plenty of
large windows overlooking Grand
Circus park, thus providing a gener-
ous amount of daylight.
The new home of this old firm in
the fur business is located in the
new Stroh building, the entrance be-
ing at 36 West Adams avenue,
through the ground floor, which is
devoted to frocks, gowns, coats, etc.
The photograph shows the general
layout of the salon. There are sev-
eral pieces of peirod furniture, a
decorative and practical system of
lighting and just a sufficient display
of merchandise to suggest to the in-
quisitive shopper that the store has
worth-while frocks.
The fitting and dressing rooms af-
ford privacy and a degree of comfort
which the most fastidious patron
might demand. Special pains were
taken by the interior decorators to
create a "daylight effect" so that cus-
tomers would be able to distinguish
colors and materials 'during the bet-
ter part of the business day, without
the aid of artificial lights.
The large factory, designing rooms,
storage and shipping departments are
also located on this floor. There is a
private elevator between the main
floor and the fur salon for the use of
customers. The offices are located
on the MOZZIII1j110 floor.
