Judaea

The Buds of Judaea Sunday de-
feated the Forget-Ile-Nuts of Zion in
the seeond of the series of debates of
the senior Young Judaea circles. The
question debated Was "Resolved that
Yiddish he included in the curricula
of Jewish education in America." The
Forget-Me-Nuts upheld the affirma-
live, the club's team chnsisting of
Mary Friedenberg, Ruth Schwartz
and Bessie Pevin. The Buds' team,
defending the negative, consisted of
Esther Jacobson, Rose Schechter and
Sophia Mendelsohn. Sam Firestone,
eke president of the Council of Senior
Club:, acted as chairman. The judges
were Harry Friedgut, Milton M. Alex-
ander and Miss Estella Alpern.
The third debate in the series td' 15
will be held on Sunday afternoon, Dec.
3, at the Wilkins street Talmud Torah,
tlw Tikvas Zion opposing the Mac-
cabees of Judaea on the question, "Re-
solved that the Jews of America are
in greater need of Zionism than are
those of Eastern Europe." The public
is invited to attend these debates.

During the literary program, Anne
Lachint spoke on the life of Jehudah
Fannie Isenberg sang a
Ha-Levi.
Yiddish song, "Von vet aria as Mos-
hint+ vet Kunten," teaching the chorus
to the girls. The difference between
Reform and Orthodox Judanim was
then discussed.

The Forget-Me-Nots of Zion, at a
meeting held at the home of the leader,
Miss Rosa ('opinsky, on Nov. 8, elected
the following new 1,fficers: Bella
Kwaslow, president; Bessie Pevin,
vice-president: Est her Abranewitz,
secretary; Bella liertsberg, treasurer;
Anna Belinsky, recording secretary.
The program committee will consist of
Bessie Pevin and Sadie Gomlitia ; the
house committee, Ruth Schwartz and
Gertrude Katz; membership, Sarah
Yaker and Esther Abramovitz. The
program at the last meeting consisted
of a review of an article on "Progress
in Palestine" and the singing of Ju-
daea!' songs.
