CONSTANTINOPLE.— (J. C. IL,
service by mail)—The political isola-
lotte Mountfennel, formerly nurse to
effect also in imposing serious hard-
ships on the Jewish emigrants from
that country, who find themselves in
consequence unable to comply with
the regulations of the Inter-Allied
authorities. On arrival in Constanti-
nople the emigrants, not having the
necessary visa find themselves unable
to land.
In view of the serious position
which has been created, Chief Rabbi
liejarano Effendi, in his capacity as
President of the Refugee Relief Com-
mittee in Constantinople, has inter-
viewed the French High Commissioner
here, pointing out the difficulties of
the Jewish emigrants. The High
Commissioner assured the Chief Rabbi
that he would do everything in his
power to facilitate the landing of the
Jewish refugees, and it is hoped that
there will now be an improvement in
the situation.

WASIIINGTON.—(J. T. A.)—Am-
erican women will not lose their citi-
zenship through marriage with a for-
eigner and immigrant women marry-
ing "naturalized aliens" will not he-
come citizens when the bill sponsored
by Representative Cable of Ohio
passed by the house and also adopted
by the senate becomes a law. This
hill provides that unless a woman
formally renounces her government,
she does not lose her citizenship
through marriage. An exception is
made in the cases of wonfen who
marry aliens ineligible to American
citizenship. Alien women would not
become American citizens through
their marriage to naturalized aliens,
but only through their own act In
securing naturalization.

The Truscon steel •nasement win-
dow, manufactured by the Truscon
Steel company, with offices at 600
Owen building, has solved the many
difficulties and problems created by
the many idiosyncrasies of window
frame and sash constructed of lumber
with its tempermental freaks of swell-
ing and shrinking along with the
whims of the weather.
Virtually everywoman who has
has gone down stairs during a storm
lived in a house, basement equipped,
to find rivulets of rain trickling into
the basement because of a partly
opened window. Also she has en-
countered the provocative obstacle pre-
sented by a rain-swelled wood in sash
and frame when she endeavored to
close the window and keep out the ele-
ments and biting damp air.
This is a difficulty that the Truscon
steel basement window is designed to
overcome. The steel window operates
just as does the ordinary wooden win-
dow when the latter is on its best
behavior. It is hinged on top and
swings inward. A touch opens or
closes it—at any time. The frame
and sash are a complete unit, accur-
ately fitted together. The heavy
spring lock and hinges are rigidly at-
tached. These hinges have easily re-
movable pins that make it a simple
matter indeed to remove the sash at
any time.
The glass is glazed on the inner
side of the and the latter can
easily be sent away to the glazier
when new glass is necessary. Double
contact weathering that cannot warp
is placed all around the sash, making
it thoroughly waterproof.

Arrow Club.
The last regular meeting of the
Arrow Club was held at the home of
Miss Rae Mann on Sept. 19. The
next regular meeting will be held at
619 Josephine avenue, Tuesday, Sept.
26, at 8 p. tn.
