the institution will he held at the Ar-
cadia on Nov. 23, and that every ef-
fort is being made to make this a suc-

committees will he authorized to sell

CASHWAN'S 'SHELTER'
IS GIVEN FIRST PRIZE
AT MICHIGAN'S FAIR

Samuel A. Cashwan, local Jewish
sculptor, was awarded first medal at
the Michigan State Fair, at the art
exhibition, for his marble statue,
"Shelter." The statue was also
bought by the state to he placed in its
new museum at the State Fair
grounds. "Shelter" is one of Mr.
Cashwan's latest compositions.
Mr. Cashwan left for New York on
Tuesday further to continue his stud-
ies and also to do special work in that
city. From New York he expects to
go to Europe for a tour of several

Richardson for the work he has done
