Through the courtesy of Milfred
Stern, the Palais de Dense on Jeffer-
son avenue will be the center of a
charming affair on Wednesday after-
noon, June 21, when a card party
will be given by the Detroit chapter
of Hadassah, the proceeds of which
will go toward hospital work in Pal-
estine. The Patois is an ideal spot
in which to hold an affair of this
kind during the summer season, and

Interest in the building fund of
the dormitory of the Hebrew Union
College at Cincinnati remains unflag-
ging. The Sisterhoods of the coun-
try have been untiring in their ef-
forts to devise ways and means of
meeting the quotas assigned them and
Detroit has proven no exception. The
chairman of the local committee,
Mrs. Isaac Goldberg, announces that
the requisite amount to make up the
quota has not as yet been raised and
it was therefore deemed advisable to
accept any amount as low as $5, to
be sent at the earliest convenience of
the giver. In this way it is hoped to
raise the required sum. A list of
the Detroit Sisterhood donors to the
Hebrew Union College dormitory
fund appears elsewhere in this issue.

The volume of business we are
enjoying is evidence convincing
that the people do realize and do
act on real values.
Beginners in housekeeping are
especially invited to come here and
convince yourself that even if your
means are limited you can furnish
your home completely at prices
that mean a considerable saving.
