HUMOROUS DEBATE
FEATURES CONCERT

Children's Sox

I

Although the time of preparation
for the Young Judaea Shavuoth con-
cert, held Saturday evening at the
Shoarey Zedek, was less than two
weeks, the affair proved a success.
The feature of the entertainment
was a humorous debate by the
Knights of Judaea on "Resolved, that
Blintzes be filled with moth balls."
The affirmative was upheld bv Na-
than Zack, Joe Markel and Sul Slom-
ovitz and the negative by Joe Levin,
William Lankin and Max Weine.
Equally as interesting and enter-
' wining was the tableau, "Ruth and
Naomi," by Goldie Goldstein and Es-
ther Gershenson of the Tikvas Zion.
The song of Naomi was beautifully
rendered by Miss Goldstein.
Members of the Roses of Zion and
the Sons of Zion appeared in an octa-
logue. A piano solo was rendered by
Belle Schultz of the Buds of Judaea
and a Yiddish poem recited by Rose
Brady of the Forget-Me-Nuts of Zion.
The mass singing of Hatikvah closed
the program.

The most pleasant outing of the
Tikvas Zion so far held this season
was enjoyed by the club last Sunday,
when the girls took a trip to Bob-Lo.
The program of the outdoor meeting
at Bob-Lo consisted of a talk by
Goldie Goldstein on the life of Rabbi
Akiba; the story of Shabuoth by Ra-
chel Goldfaden, the president of the
club; a humorous story, "Cow-webs,"
by Clara Labret. Philip Katz, leader
of the club, gave a talk on the im-
portanc.e of Jewish National Fund
work in Young Judaea.
Following the meeting, the girls
enjoyed a baseball game. Several
Shavuoth games were also played.
The club decided henceforth to meet
on Thursday evenings.
