Local Zionist District to Elect Offi-
cers at Meeting.
Louis Lipsky, general secrete zy of
the Zionist Organization of America,
will address a meeting of the Zionist
district of Detroit on Monday even-
ing, June 5, at the Shaarey Zedek
Synagogue.
The meeting is being called for the
purpose of reorganizing the local dis-
trict, which has not been functioning
for several months, all the local Zion-
ist work having been done by the
Keren Ilayesod of this city.
Officers of the district will be elect-
ed Monday evening, and there will
also be chosen delegates to the twen-
ty-fifth Zionist convention, to be held
beginning June 25 in Philadelphia.
All Detroit Zionists are urged to
attend this meeting and to renew
their affiliations with the district.
Mr. Lipsky will speak on the pres-
ent political situation. Mr. Lipsky,
who has been connected with the
Zionist Organization of America for
more than 20 years, was responsible
for the introduction and passage by
the Senate of the United States of
the Lodge resolution favoring a Jew-
ish homeland in Palestine.
