letter follows:
"Upon our recent visit to the city
of Jerusalem, Palestine, among the
institutions we looked over and stu-
died was one known as Rabbi Dia-
kin's Orphanage for the Palestine
Orphan Asylum). We spent consider
able time in that institution and were
much attracted by the vdendid in-
structions, both educational and eco-
nomical. We witnessed large classes
studying under able instructors, and
were much impressed with the anxi-

A meeting of the executive com-
mittee of the Detroit Hebrew Orphan
Home was held on Sunday, May 21.
Matters of importance were discussed
for providing shelter for more or-
phans which the present home's fa-
cilities will not permit. There are at
present several applications to receive
orphans. The officers and members
of the orphanage are doing every-
thing possible to hasten the enlarge-
ment of the quarters to relieve the
unfortunate situation. Several or-
ganizations volunteered to assist the
home, recognizing the worthy work
being done.
The president of the Tzdakha Club
requested permission of the orphan-
age to give a "wearing apparel"
shower for its benefit by the club,
which met with the approval of the
executive committee. This will be
hold on Tuesday, June 6, at 2 o'clock,
at the Federation of Women's Clubs.
In connection with this the orphanage
announces that it appreciates all the
assistance it is being offered and
gladly welcomes this from individuals
or organizations, but it requests that
in each case permission first be ob-
tained from the executive committee
before any activity is started.
The committee meets every Sun-
day at the orphanage, where it will
be pleased to receive offers of assist-
once, suggestions or opinions for the
betterment of the home.

"We found that while this orphan-
age occupied an old dillapidated
buliding, every part of it, especially
the sleeping quarters, is kept clean
and attractive, and from the appear-
ance of the orphans they, too, must
he well taken care of. We visited
the new structure being built to ac-
commodate Rabbi Diskin's Orphan-
age, and departments essential to its
operation, which is located on an ele-
vated position accessible to the city,
and when completed will be a preten-
tious and splendid acquisition to the
whole city. We heartily recommend
assistance for its completion."
