The Maccabean Sports will meet
the Progressive A. C. in a joint de-
bate on May 28 at the El Moshe
Synagogue on the question, "Re-
solved, that Jewish nationalism is the
fundamental cause of anti-Semitism."
II. Schultz, H. Glickowsky and J.
Thuman, representing the Maccabean
Sports, will uphold the affirmative of
this question. The judges will be an-
nounced later.
The outstanding feature of last
week's meeting was a debate on the
question, "Resolved, that the United
States permanently retain the Philip-
pine Islands." The debate was close-
ly contested, the affirmative team,
composed of S. Pomeranz and J. Thu-
min, defeating II. Schultz and A.
Glickowsky.

Philomathic Debating Club.

The l'hilomathic Debating Club
met last Sunday evening at the
Farnsworth Talmud Torah. The pro-
gram of the evening was a debate on
the question, "Resolved, that Judge
Bartlett's policy of jailing speeders is
justifiable," the affirmative, Sam Gu-
rovitz nod Louis Carpel, winning
over Charles Ornstein and Sydney De
Young.
Mr. Russel of the Detroit Junior
College faculty and head of the po-
litical science department, acted as
critic of the debate. lie also gave a
very instructive talk to the members
on the subject of Detroit's political
system. Ile pointed out to the mem-
bers that Detroit had the best voting
system in comparison to the other
large cities of the United States.
"Resolved, that the United States
own and operate the coal mines" will
be the subject debated on at Sunday's
meeting of the organization. B.
Kurtzman and S. I.iebovitz will argue
for this principle, while S. Rubenstein
and A. C. Perlman will support the
opposition. Along with this debate,
Harry H. Platt, speaker of the organ-
ization, will give the first of a series
of talks on the subject, "Fundamen-
tal Principles of Debating." Mr.
Friedman, Detroit attorney, is sched-
uled to address the members of the
organization.

Delicious New Desoere$

to expect only at the best hotels and restaurants can now
be made in your own home, served at your own table,
if you have Frigidaire.
Ices, creams, sherbets, frozen puddings and other
dainties can be made without trouble, frozen quickly and
easily in the clean, dry cold of the Frigidaire cabinet.

is a complete ice plant and cold storage system for the
home. It preserves food by means of cold, dry air which
circulates constantly through every compartment, chill-
ing all the contents and insuring freshness and purity.
The temperature in the Frigidaire cabinet is kept con-
stantly at the scientifically correct degree for food
preservation, a temperature about ten degrees lower
than is possible with the old-fashioned ice-box.
It is entirely automatic in operation, using current from
the electric wires in your house, and requiring no care
or attention.
Frigidaire is a product of the General Motors Corpora.
tion, correctly designed, correctly made and thoroughly
dependable in service. And yet, with all its other
advantages it will probably cost you less to use than you
now pay for ice.
