The Phoenix Club was the scene of
a charming affair on Monday last
when the board of directors of the'
Sisterhood of Temple Beth El were
hostesses to the delegates to the new-
ly organized State Federation of Sis-
terhoods and to the distinguished
speaker of the day, Mrs. Felix A.
Levy of Chicago, at a charmingly ap-
pointed luncheon. A profusion of
spring flowers centered the tables
that formed an "I." at which the
guests were seated. Mrs. Adolph Slo-
man, who has been called the "dean
in Sisterhood activities," having been
its first president, presided in her
usual charming manner, relating
many interesting incidents in the life
of the local Sisterhood. Besides Mrs.
Levy, who was introduced by Mrs.
Leo M. Franklin, the delegates pres-
ent were Mrs. Charles Levy of Bay
City, Mrs. J. Thal of Saginaw, Mrs.
A. Traub of Jackson, Mrs. W. A. Ro-
senberg and Mrs. B. J. Wyman of
Flint and Mrs. Isaac Goldberg of De-
troit. The luncheon wan followed by
an informal discussion of Sisterhood
problems.
