TALMUD SOCIETY OPENS
OFFICES FOR MICHIGAN

The Talmud Society of Bosom last
week opened offices for the slate of
Michigan at .159 Vinton building, with
!Miss Kay It. Brauns as state repre-
sentative.
Tile Talmud Society now has
branches in several states and is en-
deavoring to spread its activities so
that it will he in a better position tee
spread Jewish thought, not alone

non-Jews.
The society publishes the Talmud
Magazine, a monthly of high stand-
ard, with exclusive contributions from
some of the greatest leaders of Jew-
ish thought in the world. Israel
Zangwill, Max Nordlau, Dr. Kaufman-
Kohler, Nahum Sokolow and many
others are its contributors.
Miss Brauns, the society's repre-
sentative, said that she would he
willing to speak before local societies
on the Talmud. She can be reached

The U-Kno-All Club members and
their friends were entertained at a
Valentine party by Jacob Behrmann
of Laura court, Saturday evening,
Feb. 18.
More than 20 members were pres-
ent at the party. The evening's pro-
gram was most unique and full of in-
terest, the members and their friends
bringing a variety of comical and
original valentines. A delightful
luncheon was served at midnight.

The organization of a Young Peo-
ples' Society of the Ahavath Zion
Synagogue, located at the corner of
Holbrook and Beaubien, is announced.
At an introductory meeting held at
the home of Msis Rebecca Feldman
on Tuesday evening, 20 people signi-
fied their intentions of becoming mem-
: bers and, judging by the enthusiasm
shown, there will be at least that
many more at the next meeting. A
constitution and entertainment com-
mittee was appointed and several
other matters were discussed concern-
ing the future welfare of the organ-
ization.
At the next meeting of the organ-
ization, to he held at the home eef Miss
Mae Morris, 325 Hague avenue, an
election of officers for this year will
he held and further plans inaugur-
rated.

The recently organized Tz-dokah
Club held a regular meeting on Tues-
day, Feb. 28, at the home of Mrs. S.
Plotner of 521$ Greenfield avenue.
The following officers were elected:
Mrs. Ben Jacobs, president; Mrs. E.
Trattner, vice-president; Mrs. Sol
Levy, treasurer; Mrs. M. Jacoby, sec-
retary; Mrs. A. Silberblatt, recorder.
The club is composed of a group
of young ladies who have been ener-
getically engaged in doing charitable
sewing. Plans are under way for a
card party to be held in the near fu-
ture, proceeds to go for the making
of layettes in addition to those no far
made.
